“Survey confirms the increased influence Web sites have on agency searches
August 03, 2006: Hoboken, NJ—AdForum.com, the world’s largest portal connecting marketers and advertising agencies, recently completed a survey that illustrates the impact that the World Wide Web has on advertisers when doing an agency search. The survey—which was conducted from June 21 to July 20, 2006 and included the opinions of 500 random AdForum users—found that:
7 out of 10 respondents would turn to an online directory first when doing an agency search;
8 out of 10 respondents believe that Web sites with video ads have helped them find the best advertising agencies to meet their needs; and
9 out of 10 respondents said their opinions about an agency changed quickly when given the opportunity to view its work on a Web site.
“The results of our survey are not surprising given the increasing popularity of the Web as an information and research tool,” said Chris Wynne, CEO and President of AdForum . “Now that we are comfortable searching for and purchasing anything and everything with the click of a mouse, it was inevitable that advertisers would turn to the Web to help find an agency.”
This is great news.
Just by having your web site found on the 1st page of search results in Google, Yahoo and MSN alone can bring you an incredible amount of visitors to view your products or services on a daily basis. The more people who visit your web site the more profits that your company should see every month. I’ve known and agreed with this philosophy for some time. Take a look at my 1st company site, “Adams Advertising”. Back in 2002 we did a lot of research and at the time learned a considerable amount about search engine optimization, (SEO). You might be surprised how much information Google themselves offer on this subject. Anyways, I’m not going an SEO tangent. Just go to Google and do some searches for “advertising agency”, “san Diego advertising agency”, “graphic design agency”, etc.
All the websites I now design implement some sort of SEO. This, along with Web 2.0 architecture based on Web Standards and good web usability makes for an all around better website and user experience. Meaning, more traffic and revenue for your company.
