Andrew got a new (used) 20-inch (mini) BMX bike for his birthday. I picked up the bike the morning of his birthday… Long story. Actually two identical bikes, one frame in really good shape, very few scratches and the other an almost complete bike. The guy I got them from the guy who owns/runs the 2 BMX tracks here in San Diego and lives 3 houses down the street. (How cool is that!) When I was picking up the bikes, he said, take them both, combine the parts and build a complete bike. Nice! Well that’s what we did.., Sunday the day after Andrew’s birthday… We only needed to purchase a couple items, a new chain, rear tire, and pads. It took me & Andrew all afternoon on Sunday to tear down the one bike, clean up, prep and lube the newer frame in preparation for, and the build. Andrew helped a little, but at his age his attention last about 2min. then off he goes… returning every now and then to check on progress, lend hand, ask questions, etc. But he will continue to learn how to maintain and take care of his own bike.

If you remember from the first Video, Andrew had long outgrown his little 12-inch bike and when riding he would quickly reach the limits of the small cranks and sprockets… But he rode it without ever a complaint. Now, the new one, the cranks & sprocket are a little big. We will be looking for a shorter set and smaller sprocket. That’s all for now, enjoy the vid. Oh ya, and BTW – Now his little brother Zac is already riding the 12-inch with training wheels…

Besides the fact this is a Cadillac commercial.., I think this spot says a lot about how a new way of doing business can make all the difference in the world.  Think about it, how much time we spend working/at work.  Why would you ever do something you don’t enjoy?

Man, I want to go work at the place he ends up! Very refreshing!

A megachurch is a large church, frequently defined as having more than 2,000 worshippers for a typical weekly service.

Globally, these large congregations are a significant development in Protestant Christianity, challenging the roles of denominations as the primary sources of ministry resources and ministerial training. Most megachurches tend to be evangelical or Pentecostal.

Hank is furious and seeks out a new chuch when Reverend Stroup fails to support him after the family seats are taken by a new couple. They end up worshipping at the new megachurch, but when the church overtakes every minute of their lives, Hank quits and is forced to make amends with Stroup in order to reclaim his place at their old church. Meanwhile, Peggy is thrilled when she gets a job working in the office of the megachurch, but her over-zealous ways drive the preacher crazy.

Over the last six months or so, I have had some conversations with one of my friends (right of right, conservative evangelical Christian) regarding the “illegal immigrant” problem. Let me just say this, prior to about six months ago or so, we would have agreed wholeheartedly. Not anymore… Now, I’m not going to get into all that. Not the point. I will say this; yes, illegal immigration is a problem, and needs to stop. I don’t know the answer. But how can I look down on any human trying to better his/her life?

As someone who calls himself a Christian, I think a more important question I need to ask myself and discuss with other Christians is; how are we engaging this segment of our culture? The poor? Homeless? Fatherless? Motherless? Elderly? Etc. Are you doing justice? Is your Church doing justice? Does the city rejoice that your Church is there? Are you truly righteous? Is your Church filled with Biblically righteous individuals? Think about it; did you choose where you would be born? To whom? What country?

Like it or not, God in His sovereignty has chosen to place each one of us in this time and place for a purpose. What better way to truly “live out the Gospel” than to extend to these people the love mercy and grace God has so abundantly given to us?

Through the messages I have been listening to from the Reform and Resurge conference that took place back in May, my view on the subject, people, poor, illegal, etc. has radically been changed. I implore you, Christian, to listen to this talk “Doing Justice” from Tim Keller and the many other great speakers/teachers/preachers at TheResurgence.com.

This message from Dr. Tim Keller will stretch and hopefully encourage you to do justice not out of guilt but out of joy. Through faithfulness in doing justice the culture will begin to notice and hear the gospel that we preach.

If you’re a designer or have ever worked in an Advertising agency, Graphic or Web design studio, you should find this pretty funny. Or at least some good entertainment for a Friday.

For no very good reason, the creative’s over at Coudal Partners made a short feature film in their spare time around the studio. Steve wrote a funny script and after a pre-production and storyboard meeting while drinking Harps on the roofdeck, they decided to make a go of it, filming in the last week of June.
